Are you aged between 12 and 15 years old?
Do you want a safe space with other young people to explore how you feel and think?
Do you find it difficult to talk about these thoughts and emotions, such as sadness,
anger, depression, and family and friends?
I invite you to come along to a taster session using Creative Arts in therapy.
Using images and creativity such as paints, pastels and playdoh may help you to express yourself.
You are not expected to be good at art!
What is expected of you?
You will be in a group of up to 6 young people. John will offer a number of creative exercises to help you express your emotions and thoughts. You will be invited to say anything about your creative work, such as: what you have created? How was the process? Any creative work, emotions and thoughts that you create and share will be valued and not judged.
What is creative arts therapy?
This approach is based upon the person centred approach conditions of genuineness, warmth, acceptance and understanding about your experience. Your creative work will be accepted as it is and it will not be judged. Using images may help you to share emotions and thoughts that words cannot capture.

Who is the facilitator running the group?
John Bradley. He is a very experienced counsellor. John is a practitioner member of APCCA.
Do I have to be good at art?
No. This is not an art class!
Will my creative work be judged?
No. Whatever you create will be respected and not judged by John (the group facilitator) or all of the other group members.
Will it be confidential?
Yes, unless you talk about something where a child or young person is at risk of harm. Then I may have to pass on any information to a trusted adult / safeguarding officer.
How many will there be in the group?
Up to 6 young people.
How old will everyone be in the group?
They will come from any of the following schools: Liberty Academy, Hull College (14 to 16), Kingswood Academy and The Marvell College. Everyone in the group (except John the group facilitator) will be aged between 12 and 15 years old.
Where will it take place?
